Looking For A "Letter of Invitation" For The #TucsonGemShows?

I recently had a request for a "Letter of Invitation" from a foreign business man for the Spring event in Tucson. There was a time when you could find these from almost every show promoter but that is no longer the case...I finally found what I was looking for from Lowell Carhart of Eons Expos.

For those of you who don't know what this is or its use - the basic concept is that this letter will show the U.S. consular officer who considers the visa application that the person applying has a specific plan regarding visiting (and eventually leaving) the U.S.  This then accompanies the visa application for the consul.

Thanks to Lowell, there is no need to search each show website - now your Letter of Invitation has it's own website!

#BreakingNews Eons Expos to Build Permanent Tucson Venue!

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT from Lowell Carhart of Eons Expos...you are probably more familiar with him as the show promoter for the 22nd St. Mineral & Fossil Show as well as shows in New Jersey and Denver.

We've been working behind the scenes for four years with a stellar team of architects, bankers, brokers, engineers, investors, lawyers, lenders, Tucson officials, and my absolute favorite Tucson Ward Councilor to be able to finally make this announcement:

On October 16, 2014, we officially acquired the 6.5 acre parcel of land at the corner of I-10 and 22nd Street in Tucson, Arizona for $1.6 million. (This is the site of our show) The deal is done. It could not have been accomplished without the support of my wife Miev, my sister-in-law Li, brother-in-law Cheng, my Darden Business School buddy Ramesh, family and new & old friends, and the spectacular A-Team comprised of Randy Emerson, Rob Paul, Ken Perry, Keri Silvyn, and Jim Whitehill. But all would have been for naught without Ward Councilor Regina Romero's vital support, who championed our proposal over that of our competitor who bid $138,000 higher but offered an uninspiring development plan. Our plan will let the City of Tucson boast of an iconic new 22nd Street Co-Op building that will become ground zero for the Tucson Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Showcase for decades to come.

We plan to break ground on the stunning $12 million 22nd Street Co-Op in February 2016.  The 150,000 sq. foot edifice will be comprised of (86) 20' x 40' selling rooms on the first two floors that dealers will own outright (structured as a business condo), while the top 3rd floor will be a year-round event space.  However, come gem show time, the top floor will host the high-end Annex of the 22nd Street Mineral & Fossil Show, which will also continue in its existing 100' x 600' tent.  Therefore, dealers will soon have a choice to own their venue in Tucson's premier location, or choose between renting a booth in the high-end top floor Annex of the 22nd Street Co-Op, or in the more affordable 22nd Street Mineral & Fossil Show tent.

Upon project completion there will be space for 500 dealers.  The sales office for the 22nd Street Co-Op will open in January in Tucson. More info to come!

Kind regards,
Lowell Carhart

BREAKING NEWS - JCK Events Will Now Operate The Jewelry Show At Starr Pass Marriott

The International Gem & Jewelry Show, owner of the G.L.D.A. Tucson and Las Vegas wholesale gem & jewelry shows - announced that they will be working with the JCK Jewelry show for the annual Tucson Event.  JCK had a strong interest in adding its footprint in the Tucson market and International Gem & Jewelry Show has chosen to increase focus on its 90 other retail and wholesale gem, jewelry and bead shows across the country.

The JCK Tucson show will be held at the JW Marriot Starr Pass Resort, a 4-Diamond mountaintop retreat, and Tucson's best, during the Tucson Jewelry Weeks.  Covering finished fine jewelry, and featuring both luxury and design areas within the show, it is a fitting addition to JCK's portfolio and one which will augment its position as the leader in  Wholesale finished fine jewelry shows. The new JCK Tucson show will take place February 3-9, 2014.

The G.L.D.A. Show (The Gem & Lapidary Dealers Association) has been an established wholesale gem & jewelry show owned  by the International Gem & Jewelry Show held in both Tucson in February and Las Vegas in May.  The Las Vegas show dates are May 27-30, 2013.

JCK, G.L.D.A. Tucson Show and The International Gem & Jewelry Show are proud that this partnership will be a benefit to all involved.  The G.L.D.A. Tucson event will now be managed at the JCK office in Norwalk, CT.  and the G.L.D.A. Vegas event operations will remain fully owned and managed by Intergem/G.L.D.A. in Rockville, MD., where the International Gem & Jewelry Show is headquartered.

In a recent statement JCK's Yancy Weinrich said, “JCK Tucson will cover the finished fine jewelry segment and feature luxury and design exhibitors, which will provide a new opportunity for exhibitors within the built in audience, already visiting Tucson.  The JW Marriott Starr Pass provides an opulent setting and environment for both exhibiting and networking beyond the show floor – with the outdoor patios, mountainous backdrop, golf course and spa; it is the place to stay while in Tucson.”

Tucson's Fall Season...Stock up for the Holidays

Did you know that there is a Fall Season in Tucson?  ...no I am not talking about the leaves turning - cactus doesn't have many leaves and the sage is pretty much the same color all year long!

What I am referring to is the Tucson Gem Show - the Fall version!

While this groups of shows is no where near the size of the Spring Shows (which some see as a benefit), it does the trick!  For locals and people in the Southwest area this is the perfect option for restocking needs just prior to the busy Holiday Season.

So if you have run out of a favorite bead or need more Chrysoprase Cabs (you know that Green is an important color for Spring & Summer 2013 - right?) this is your opportunity to shop three (3) of the larger shows from Spring!

Your selection includes the popular Holidome Show presented by G&LW  - the giant JOGS Show at the ExpoCenter and the Best Bead Show at Kino Memorial Center!
